John is one of the founders of EKOS and has been involved in economic development for almost 40 years. John has previously held senior positions as a Director of Industry in the Scottish Enterprise Network and as a Business Development Manager with a major US energy company.

He has particular experience in: the development, delivery and review of economic, skills and social policy; obtaining approval and funding for projects and programmes including Green Book appraisals; the development of business cases; and organisational development, restructuring and improvement.

John has extensive and specific policy and practice knowledge in a number of specific subject areas including; skills and learning, financial engineering, urban regeneration programmes and key sectors including, energy, financial services, digital/ICT; construction, creative industries, defence; and textiles.
